MICHAEL HOOG: CEO & Practice Leader Public Relations
One of the founders of Corporate Advocates, Mr. Hoog oversees public affairs and public relations matters for the firm’s clients and manages the day-to-day business of the company. Since its formation, Corporate Advocates has attracted numerous clients from the ranks of the Fortune 500.

Currently, Mr. Hoog counsels clients on a range of public affairs issues and has successfully orchestrated and worked on major public communications campaigns for companies on issues ranging from technology policy and procurement to oil & gas rights and royalties.

Prior to forming Corporate Advocates, he worked as an attorney in the Denver office of the Washington, DC based law firm of Patton Boggs, where he designed and implemented lobbying, procurement and stakeholder communications initiatives for the firm’s national and global clients. Previously, he served as the press secretary and congressional liaison for the National Institute for Dispute Resolution, in Washington, DC.

He has represented client interests before congress, federal agencies, and state and local governments on issues such as technology policy, energy policy and environmental compliance.

In 1998, President Clinton appointed Mr. Hoog to the American Heritage Rivers Advisory Committee. He also served a term on the Colorado Council on the Arts and is the past Chair of Arts for Colorado. Mr. Hoog also mentors student athletes through the University of Colorado’s UCAMP program.
 
A former minor league pitcher in the Atlanta Braves organization, Mr. Hoog set several career pitching records at the University of North Carolina while receiving his Political Science degree. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
